I was very young and
still on my way to becoming an established actress
when I was selected to be a LUX star. It was an honour,
especially as other great Sri Lankan actresses had
been LUX stars before me. Lux gave me great
confidenceÖ and recognition. <
/b>
I have been a spokesperson for Lux for the past eight
years. The glamour and prestige Lux has contributed to
my career has in turn portrayed another side of me to
my fans. As I prefer to take part in realistic cinema,
Lux has opened up another world to me.
The Lux television shoots have always been exciting
and new. I have had the privilege of working very
closely with top creative teams from J Walter Thompson
Colombo and the best film directors and crews in the
region. If you were to ask me to relate one of the
many memorable experiences I have had during these
shoot, one certainly comes to mindÖ we were shooting
on an island in Thailand and had to climb to the top
of a dangerous cliff with the help of mountain ropes.
I remember thinking if my foot slipped, or I got blown
off at the top because of strong gusts of wind, I will
fall straight into the sea or the rocks belowÖ I was
very nervous. I took it as a challenge and put on my
professional personality. While the rest of the crew
said a silent prayer below, I carried on. It turned
out to be one of the most dramatic shots in the
commercial.
As a role model in society, I try to be a responsible
person voicing my opinion. I donít see anything
wrong with using women in advertisingÖ as long
itís done in a responsible manner.
My whole family had been using Lux even before I was
born! So, I was a Lux user even before I started
endorsing the product!
Lux has set a very high standard in the worldÖ and in
Asia. It is considered the pinnacle of beauty care.
Some of the worldís most beautiful women, especially
film stars have become a part of the Lux world. I
believe that beauty and LuxÖ stardom and LuxÖ
glamour and Lux will always walk hand in hand
What can I say? Itís for these very reasons that I
believe Lux brings out the star in me!
